We are looking for a hands-on, solidly experienced, Chief Stewardess who can lead a team (4 total in the interior) to bring this owner the highest levels of service.
Our 44m Motor Yacht runs a very comfortable route from S. Florida to New England and back. The Captain is there to support, not micro-manage, the Chief Stew in their role of presenting yacht-level service when the guests are aboard.
The successful Chief understands traditional yachting. From buffet breakfast, to beach parties, reservations at the Ritz, organizing guest outings, cocktails and aperitifs. You lead your team by communication, understanding, outlining goals – never by yelling, no screaming. You know how to manage so that your Second is both learning and taking on some Chief duties as you will be managing interior accounts, organizing flights, bookings, reservations, etc. Your Stews are treated with respect, they assist in service and keeping the yacht to the highest levels of cleanliness.
Your maturity comes across in your organizational skills, calm demeanor, and your ability to listen to the owner, take notes, and repeat back so that the owner knows they have been heard. You are not afraid to approach the owner or the Captain when things go pear-shaped so that when things do go wrong, you give as much notice as possible that plans need to be changed, or additional resources need to be allocated. You never hide, or hide from, a problem.
Ideally, you already have solid Chief Stew experience, you have shown that you can manage a team (not just make lists and point), and really get a kick out of tackling a challenge.
English must be spoken at “native” level. They would prefer English as a first language, but that is not a requirement. They can accommodate both Male and Female Chief Stews. They will consider candidates located anywhere in the world – however, you must be able to enter the US before the middle of February (they have onboard training scheduled).
Their contract is for 60 days vacation and the wages are very good (we do not share wages in either direction – at the level of Chief it is for you to negotiate your wages after you fully understand what they expect you to bring to the table).
