Engineer/Deckhand - 47m

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Engineer who is willing to contribute on Deck as well. Our yacht is a private 47-meter motor vessel that spends the entire year cruising between South Florida and the Bahamas. While our yachting program may not be the most adventurous, it is certainly one of the most civilized. We are fortunate to have a pleasant and respectful owner, and our home base in South Florida allows for a good work-life balance away from the boat. We have a clearly defined set of responsibilities and offer opportunities for career growth.

Longevity is highly valued on our team, and turnover is exceptionally low. Our pace is relaxed, but we always uphold the highest standards of yachting excellence. As the Assistant Engineer, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer. However, you should also be comfortable taking on additional responsibilities when the Chief Engineer is off duty (don't worry, you won't be responsible for entire trips just yet). We require candidates to have substantial experience in yacht engineering and cannot consider inexperienced applicants.

When guests are on board, your primary responsibilities will involve assisting on Deck, which includes both enjoyable tasks like managing water toys and tenders, as well as more routine duties such as washdowns. While a license is not required for this position, a genuine interest in the Engine room is essential. The Chief Engineer is an excellent teacher, but you should possess basic skills and a curious mindset.

Our yacht is predominantly based in South Florida, with scheduled trips originating from this location. Candidates with established lives in the area may find this opportunity particularly appealing. We aim to fill this position by mid-October and will only consider candidates currently residing in South Florida.

To be considered, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. If not, you must hold a valid B1 visa.
Hold STCW Basic Training and a valid ENG1 medical certificate.
Have a minimum of 12 months of recent yacht experience.
Possess a positive, friendly, and teamwork-oriented attitude.
Tattoos are acceptable as long as they are not offensive and not located on your face or neck.
Smoking is strictly prohibited.
Our yacht adheres to a strict "drug-free" policy, and a pre-employment drug test is mandatory.
We are open to team-friendly arrangements, so if you have a partner who is a Stewardess with at least 24 months of yachting experience, she can also be considered for a position on board.
